​futures is a recurring, invitation-only working session convened by Omnivore. Each chapter takes one segment in frontier tech where the science is largely solved but the path to scale is not, and exchange ideas that can close the gap between the two.

​About Chapter One - Alternate Materials

​India imports or wastes an enormous share of the material inputs behind its consumer economy: packaging, fibres, fertilisers, industrial chemicals. A parallel set of technologies now exist to replace many of them with bio-based, or domestically produced alternatives.

​While many of them are technically viable today, India still needs to solve for scale - reaching cost parity at volume, building supply chains, giving customers a reason to switch, and getting capital for the next step.

​The first convening will explore pathways to scale with curated discussions, Q&A sessions and ideation activities.
