About Event
Recent incidents involving AI agents escaping intended testing environments and accessing real-world systems have made the liability question much more immediate. If an AI agent causes harm, breaks into a system, commits a tort, or otherwise violates the law, who is responsible? The developer, the deployer, the user, or the operator? This briefing will examine how existing legal frameworks, including tort law, agency principles, product liability, and the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, apply when increasingly autonomous AI systems act in ways no human specifically directed.
