Workshop: Walletbeat: Wallet Privacy in Practice
Workshop Details
You don't expect your browser to snitch on your browsing history, yet today's wallets might as well. Let's go over the state of Ethereum wallet privacy: what the data shows, where the gaps are, and what it takes for a wallet to actually protect a user's privacy.
Come if you are a wallet dev, privacy researcher, or if you use Ethereum and value your privacy, wanting to understand what wallet privacy means in practice, or to see how your wallet stacks up.
We will learn:
- Different facets of wallet privacy:
- Wallet address privacy: Is your address linkable to other info about yourself?
- Private token transfers: Can you send/receive tokens without revealing your transaction history to others?
- Multi-address privacy: Can your multiple addresses be correlated with one another?
- Privacy hygiene: Does your wallet only send sensitive data with your explicit consent?
- What the current wallet landscape looks like today, and where it needs to improve.
- How to check your wallet's privacy using Walletbeat's network capture/analysis tools.
