webAI Open Source Tech Talk + YOLO26 MLX Build Challenge

​Join AITX and webAI for a technical evening with Mitch DePree and Fatih Altay from webAI’s AI team. They’ll walk through how YOLO26 MLX works, what makes Apple Silicon-native object detection interesting, and what’s possible to build with it.

​After the talk, we’ll dig into the YOLO26 MLX Build Challenge — a 7-day open source build challenge with $4,000 in prizes across four tracks.

​The basics:

• ​Build solo or in teams of up to three

• ​Four tracks to pick from

• ​Track winners get $1,000 per team plus featured placement across webAI’s blog, social channels, and community platforms

​Can’t make it to the event? The build challenge is async and open to anyone in the US. Share with your friends and build together remotely.

​Submissions are judged on:

• ​Meaningful use of YOLO26 MLX

• ​On-device execution

• ​Demo quality

• ​Technical execution

• ​Creativity

• ​Usefulness

• ​Storytelling

​Mitch, Fatih, and other members from the webAI team will answer questions and help builders think through ideas.
