Building Community Resilience in Uncertain Times: The Power of Community Organizations and Collective Action
In times of uncertainty and upheaval, community resilience is more critical than ever. This intimate, interactive discussion (max 40 participants) will explore how local organizations, self-help groups, and collective action can enable adaptation and long-term flourishing in the face of crisis.
Key Questions We’ll Explore:
What does community resilience truly mean?
What enables adaptation, and what holds it back?
How do we move beyond coping to thriving?
What types of relationships and structures foster sustainable change?
Grounded in Paulo Freire’s social justice principles (Pedagogy of the Oppressed), this session will dive into effective community structures, the role of local actors, and the cost-effectiveness of grassroots resilience-building. Together, we will formulate a call to action to share with the broader community.
