Live Build: Build a Climate Story with Claude Design & Claude Code
About Event
You'll build a scrolling climate story from scratch in this session using Claude Design and Claude Code together. The data isn't picked in advance. We're pulling live wildfire data from NASA's FIRMS and EONET feeds, the same satellite tracking system fire agencies use, and building the page around whatever the largest active fire on Earth happens to be that day.
Claude Design builds the page shell: the header, the scroll sections, the layout the data drops into. Claude Code writes the live API call, parses the response, and turns raw coordinates into a working map. By the end of the hour, the page has a hero number pulled straight from the feed, a map showing how the fire has grown, and one comparison against a past fire of similar size.
What you walk away with:
A published page built from live data in the session, and the workflow to point at your own dataset next time. No coding or design background required. You bring the climate knowledge and editorial judgment.
The format:
We build this live in an hour. I'll explain key decisions as they happen, with Q&A every 20 minutes. Things will break, because the data is live and unpredictable. We fix them in real time. You see the actual workflow, including the parts that don't go smoothly.

The techniques in this session come directly from the Terra Studio Intensive curriculum and free courses, where participants turn climate evidence into published, audience-targeted communication using AI, every week. The free concise storytelling course is available at studio.terra.do.
