Claude Code + NocoDB: Build Powerful Databases Without the Learning Curve
NocoDB turns any database into a smart spreadsheet interface. It's the open-source alternative to Airtable that lets you self-host, own your data, and skip the per-seat pricing that kills margins when you're building for clients.
But setting it up takes work. Configuring tables, relationships, and views through the UI is slow. Connecting it to external tools means navigating docs and building integrations manually. And if you're spinning up similar database structures for multiple projects or clients, you're repeating the same clicks every time.
Claude Code gives you a shortcut to all of it.
In this workshop, you'll use Claude Code to interact with the NocoDB API—creating databases, managing records, building relational structures, and automating data workflows directly from your terminal.
You'll learn:
Connecting to the NocoDB API through Claude Code using API tokens
Creating and configuring tables, fields, and linked relationships programmatically
Bulk importing, updating, and managing records at scale
Building filtered views, lookups, and rollups without the UI
Integrating NocoDB with external data sources and webhooks
Migrating data from Airtable or spreadsheets into NocoDB
Templating database structures for fast client deployments
By the end, you'll have a streamlined way to build and manage NocoDB—and reusable workflows that let you stand up a full relational database for yourself or a client in minutes instead of hours.
NOTE: You'll need a NocoDB instance running (cloud or self-hosted) with API access enabled. The free self-hosted version works perfectly for this session. We'll share setup instructions before the session.
Claude Code requires a paid plan. You'll need either a Claude Pro subscription ($20/month) or an Anthropic API key with at least $5 credit.
