Trusted Execution Environments
Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) let code run over sensitive data inside hardware-isolated environments. The idea isn’t new: Town Crier (2016) explored Intel SGX for connecting smart contracts to private real-world data, followed by Ekiden for confidential smart-contract execution. Today, confidential GPUs and remote attestation are bringing TEEs into private AI inference, agents, DeFi and verifiable off-chain compute.
