Whitepaper Reading ETHTaipei 2026: CROPS, Privacy & ENS v2 Cross-Chain Evolution

(1) CROPS - 1,000 Year Public Infrastructure

Ethereum aims to become public infrastructure that can remain useful and verifiable for centuries—not just a faster execution layer. What does that vision look like in practice? This session explores Ethereum’s CROPS direction—censorship resistance, openness, privacy, and security—and the idea of evidential survivability: building commitments and proofs that can outlast the applications and institutions that created them. We’ll then dive into technologies and ideas such as PlasmaFold, offchain computation, and digital societies to ask what Ethereum should actually provide as 1,000-year infrastructure.

🧠 Session Lead: TBD

(2) ENS v2 Cross-Chain Evolution

As Ethereum Name Service (ENS) transitions to its v2 architecture, deploying a redesigned hierarchical registry natively on Ethereum L1 while extending seamless multi-chain interoperability represents a major milestone in decentralized identity scaling. However, expanding state across the ecosystem presents significant architectural hurdles: How do we achieve trust-minimized state verification across heterogeneous L2s like Optimism and Arbitrum? How do we handle deferred cross-chain writes (ERC-5559)?
Most importantly, how do we maintain 100% backward compatibility for millions of legacy L1 smart contracts and Web3 dApps without breaking changes?

🧠 Session Lead: Net (SNS)
