Hegota Upgrade

Ethereum’s Hegotá upgrade introduces EIPs to improve censorship resistance, transaction speed, and network efficiency. We’ll focus on

  • FOCIL (EIP-7805), which uses validator-enforced inclusion lists to prevent block builders from censoring transactions,

  • Quick Slots (EIP-8198), which explores reducing Ethereum’s 12-second block time to improve transaction confirmation speed.

  • (Maybe) Optional Execution Proofs (EIP-8025), which explores using cryptographic proofs to verify block execution

  • Ethereum’s governance process, including how EIPs are evaluated, prioritized, and selected for network upgrades.

We'll also disucss general Hegota Upgrade thoughts. Bring your ideas and questions :)

EIP Sources: https://forkcast.org/upgrade/hegota

Format:

  • Short introduction and context setting to start.

  • A short walkthrough of the paper and its key ideas.

  • Questions and discussion grounded in the original source.

  • Moderator-led discussion with no promotions.

Session Guide: Lodestar Team (Chainsafe)

Bing and NC, protocol engineer from Lodestar, an Ethereum consensus client written in TypeScript.
Lodestar is an open-source Ethereum consensus client developed. Exploring the cutting edge of Ethereum’s Proof-of-Stake consensus works, why client diversity matters for network resilience, and how Lodestar is using TypeScript and Zig to build faster, more reliable Ethereum infrastructure.
