GREEN CHEMISTRY FRONTLINES
Roundtable Style. Deep Conversation with Japanese Founders. True Collaboration.
Oakland Port Labs is proud to host a special roundtable with four pioneering companies advancing green chemistry, synthetic biology, materials innovation, and sustainable manufacturing. Join us to meet the founders and technical leaders from BioPhenolics, Mechanocross, Digzyme, and Nano Resonance as they present their science-focused technologies and share candid insights into expanding impact and partnerships within the US market.
Featured Innovators:
MECHANOCROSS
Spun out of Hokkaido University, Mechanocross is redefining organic synthesis for industry through mechanochemical methods, enabling cleaner manufacturing and novel materials. Their growing US presence aims to foster relationships in materials supply, IP licensing, and joint research, especially for green innovation in industrial and specialty chemical sectors.
Digzyme
Digzyme's proprietary enzyme engineering platform transforms enzyme development from random chance to advanced data-driven design, unlocking new opportunities for biocatalysis, waste reduction, and sustainable industry. Their expansion into the US focuses on bridging startups and established players with tailored enzyme libraries and consulting for American manufacturers seeking greener solutions.
Nano Resonance
Pushing the frontier in advanced functional materials and nanotechnology, Nano Resonance facilitates next-generation sustainability and safety through revolutionary pigments technology targeting cosmetics as well as automotive amongst other industrial uses. Their US engagement includes pilot projects, partnership building, and technology demonstrations with innovators across beauty tech, biotech, and advanced manufacturing.
BioPhenolics
Leading transformation in chemical manufacturing with smart cell fermentation, BioPhenolics produces biomass-derived aromatics—aiming for a circular chemicals industry that cuts reliance on petrochemicals and reduces global carbon emissions. As they look toward US partnerships, their team seeks collaborators in fermentation-based chemicals, specialty materials, and climate-focused solutions.
The Roundtable
Each company will offer an introduction of their company and efforts (5-10 minutes) highlighting scientific advances, climate impact, and cross-border collaboration opportunities in the US. The session continues with a moderator-led roundtable for open discussion on the barriers, opportunities, and ecosystem connections in commercializing sustainable science in America.
