X402 and Agentic Commerce with AWS and Arbitrum
When Your Agent Needs a Wallet: x402 Payments with AWS AgentCore and Arbitrum
Your autonomous agent just hit a paid API. Now what? The x402 standard turns that HTTP 402 "Payment Required" response into a payment handshake. One round trip: the agent pays, the agent gets the result. Settlement happens onchain.
In this joint session, AWS and Arbitrum walk through the reference architecture for x402 agentic payments built on AgentCore and Arbitrum's settlement layer. We'll run it live: resources deployed in the cloud that return payment terms, and an agent that handles negotiation and settlement automatically, with no payment code required.
You'll leave this session knowing how to wire up pay-per-call tool access for your own agents.
This is a live webinar on LinkedIn. Register here and we'll send the event link to all registered participants ahead of the session.
What to Expect
The AWS Reference Architecture for Agentic Payments
A walkthrough of how the pieces fit together: CloudFront, Lambda@Edge, the CDP facilitator, and where AgentCore sits in the flow that powers x402 payments.
Live Demo: The 402 Handshake, End to End
We'll run it live from both sides: a gated CloudFront resource returns an HTTP 402 with payment terms, and an agent settles USDC on Arbitrum One through the CDP facilitator, returning the gated content plus a link to inspect the payment onchain.
Settlement Layer Flexibility
Why the settlement choice matters, and how swapping to any EVM-compatible chain comes down to a single config line.
Agenda
Sixty minutes, start to finish: a quick framing of agentic payments, the AWS reference architecture, then the part you came for, a live end-to-end demo of an agent paying for a gated resource and settling onchain in real time.
We'll close with how to ship this in your own product development with resources to take the next step.
