Bitcoin has never been more valuable and never more targeted. August 2026 marked a turning point, in which the step-change in AI capabilities is now stress-testing Bitcoin's software at a new level.
The emergent risk sparked a self-organized response in the community: Bitcoin developers, grasping the stakes, turned the same AI tools on the defensive side, hunting for bugs before the attackers could and giving birth to what has become known as the Bitcoin Red Team 🛡️
Description
This event brings together security researchers, Bitcoin developers and ecosystem builders for an honest conversation about the attacks happening right now, what's being done about it and where the gaps still are.
We'll cover the recent cybersecurity incidents targeting Bitcoin infrastructure, how AI is being applied to proactive defense and continuous audit scanning, and the unique challenge of securing open-source projects that millions of people trust.
After the sessions, there will be opportunity to join the vibrant Satoshi Spritz, the local meetup of Lugano’s Bitcoin community, for networking and drinks in Piazza Cioccaro 🍹
