About Event

A Slow Construct × Autodesk Forma breakfast & design competition at Van Alen Institute.

Join Slow Construct and Autodesk Forma at Van Alen Institute to explore one of architecture's most urgent challenges: how we will live in 2035.

THE CHALLENGE & PRIZES

As part of Autodesk Forma's Futures Challenge, we will spend as little as one focused hour in Autodesk Forma Site Design or Forma Building Design to respond to 1 of 4 briefs. Entries will be submitted as a LinkedIn post and reviewed by an independent jury, with winning prizes including:

  • $1,000 gift card per brief winner,

  • media feature on ArchDaily,

  • editorial feature on Autodesk Forma blog.

We will also name a 'Slow Construct People's Choice' winner for a feature on our channels and a breakfast voucher.

THE BREAKFAST

Because it's a Sunday, we have designed a special bagel menu for attendees to enjoy, courtesy of New York's cult favorite bagel brand, Rollin Bagels.

  • 🥯 “The Parti” (savory) — everything bagel, scallion cc, cucumber, pickled red onion, chili crisp

  • 🥯 “The Parapet” (sweet) — plain or raisin bagel, maple cinnamon cc, sliced apple, honey, flaky salt

Bring your laptop, an appetite, and a point of view on adaptive housing. Free to attend, limited to 50 spots. If you can no longer make it, please update your reservation so others can join.

About Slow Construct

Slow Construct is a platform and community exploring the evolving practice of architecture. Founded by Jesslyn Guntur, we bring together architects and multidisciplinary designers working beyond buildings—and create opportunities to test new ideas, tools, and craftsmanship. Join the community

Brunch & Build is part of that larger experiment. Rather than treat emerging tech as something architects simply need to hear about, Slow Construct creates spaces to use it critically, exchange perspectives with peers, and experiment together.
