Presenter: Dr. Tolga Zafer Özdemir is an award-winning composer and educator whose music connects diverse cultures and eras. After earning his Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Memphis, he held long-term teaching positions at the University of Memphis, Akdeniz University and Bilgi University. His globally performed compositions range from symphonies to electronic works.
What to Expect: In this presentation Dr. Özdemir presents the Tritonet, an innovative musical calculator he built on the Max/MSP platform. He will examine the Circle of Fifths as a mathematical map of ratios within the frequency domain. The presentation will feature a live technical demonstration and musical performance, showcasing how the Tritonet functions as a modern tool for both music education and digital performance.
