Join us for “Stitch It, Don’t Ditch It” - a one-day workshop where you can discover the joy of sewing, hand repairs, and how to use sewing machines.
Clothing industry is responsible for 11% of CO2 emissions each year, more than from air travel & sea shipping combined.
3 out of 5 items end up in landfill, in our rivers or the sea.
80 billion new pieces of clothing are consumed worldwide every year, 400% more than 20 years ago.
Discarded clothing sent to rubbish is a big waste disposal problem. Recycling of clothes and fabrics reduces waste, and reduces the carbon emissions from manufacturing new materials. It's a way that all of us can take part in tackling climate change.

As these are hands-on practical workshops available spots are limited to 12 people.
"Stitch It, Don't Ditch It" is a joint project of City of Canada Bay Council and Climate Action Burwood Canada Bay (CABCB).
CABCB is a not-for-profit local volunteer community group in Sydney's inner west on unceded Wangal Land. Our goal is to inform and engage the local community about the worsening climate crisis and to influence business and governments to take strong and urgent climate action.
