Peter Zheng is Head of Design at OKX, where his team designs the products more than 120 million customers use to trade, pay and save. Over 20 years, his career has taken him from East to West, through agencies including W+K, TBWA\Media Arts Lab and Ogilvy, and in-house at Google, Samsung and Meta. Working across cultures has taught him that good ideas start with listening. As AI changes how products get made, he is helping his team move from designing screens to designing systems, with people at the center.
Topic Intro: More of our financial lives now happen on a phone, at any hour, and soon with AI doing some of the work for us. None of that matters if people don’t feel safe enough to use it. Crypto gave us new ways to prove things. Anyone can check a transaction on a blockchain, and exchanges publish reports showing they hold customers’ funds. Yet people still hesitate before they hit “confirm.” Proof and protection are different things, and design has to close the distance between them. In this session, Peter shares how OKX designs for trust, from showing people how they’re protected to helping them understand what they’re agreeing to before it's final. He’ll also look at what changes when we start handing some of those decisions to an AI agent.
Pearly Tan is Content Systems Director at OKX, where she is leading the shift from content design as a service to content as a scalable system for global digital products. She previously led Global Content Design at OKX and led the build of award-winning experiences across Meta Reality Labs, TikTok Shop and Bank of Singapore.
Topic intro: As digital products expand, users face more opportunities, choices and information. They also face more uncertainty, emotion and risk. Trust must be built throughout the experience, especially when people are deciding whether to explore, act, or ask for help.
Doing this at scale requires a shift from relying on specialists for every decision to building systems that make trustworthy choices easier across the organisation.
This session explores how content systems can:
Give users the information they need, when they need it
Build trust with transparency that is relevant and proportionate
Direct expertise to moments where uncertainty carries real consequences
Help every team make sound, responsible decisions at scale
Pearly will discuss OKX’s content transformation and how AI-enabled systems can help more people become responsible trust builders.
Ben Bowes is the Director of Product Design at Open Government Products (OGP), where he helps teams make government products effective, enjoyable and worthy of people’s trust. He thinks public service is where the best designers belong, making everyday life better for the people around them. As AI reshapes how we build and create, Ben believes people must remain at the heart of what we design and why.
Topic intro: When AI can make almost anything look and sound convincing, how do we know what’s real and who to trust? From everyday encounters to government services, design shapes how trust is built, tested and sometimes exploited. With so much uncertainty, how can public institutions earn our trust? Maybe a little doubt is part of what makes trust possible.
