About Event

This session is part of the Introduction to Political Technology course at Newspeak House. Registration will be open to the public in the week before the event.

As part of this module, you have experienced a narrative simulation in the autumn term and a matrix game in the winter term. We will now begin the process of designing your own serious game.

This classroom session will take you from a problem or system you want to explore to a basic working prototype. You can choose either style of game you have already experienced during the module.

If this is your first session on the Wargaming & Challenge module, we will start with a short refresher.

There is pre-work for this session. Please come with an idea for a system you would like to explore using gaming techniques. This could be a political, humanitarian, conflict, or technological system. You should ideally be able to identify and describe the key actors within that system.

Alex Vince is the faculty member for the Wargaming module. He is a serving Civil Servant who has been utilising wargaming techniques over the last decade.
