About Event

Session Structure & Agenda (60-90 minutes)

  1. Quick Recap & FOC Overview (10 min)

    • Recap storage basics from previous session.

    • Introduce FOC as the evolution: From decentralized storage → full programmable cloud (verifiable storage via PDP/Warm Storage, retrieval via Beam, payments via Filecoin Pay, all on FVM).

    • Highlight 2026 roadmap: Early verifiable compute, onchain replication/repair, multi-chain integrations, and AI/DePIN focus.

  2. Core Technical Deep-Dive: Compute-Over-Data Concepts (20-30 min)

    • Explain compute-over-data paradigm: Process data without moving it off Filecoin (reduce costs, enhance privacy/verifiability).

    • Key building blocks:

      • FVM smart contracts (Solidity/Rust) for orchestrating compute jobs (e.g., trigger offchain compute via oracles, post proofs onchain).

      • Integration patterns: Store data → Use CIDs in FVM contracts → Run compute (e.g., via partnered high-perf layers like Monad) → Verify results onchain.

      • Verifiable aspects: Onchain attestations for computation outcomes, automated Filecoin Pay settlement on proof.

    • Hackathon-relevant examples:

      • AI/AGI: Verifiable inference on Filecoin-stored models/datasets (e.g., agent grounding with proven data access).

      • Crypto Economics: Onchain simulations or risk models with verifiable inputs/outputs.

      • General: Decentralized compute marketplaces for labeling, simulations, or BCI data processing.

  3. Hands-On / Live Demo (15-25 min)

    • Starter: Use Synapse SDK to interact with FOC services (e.g., store data, set up a simple FVM contract that references a CID and simulates a compute trigger).

    • Code walkthrough: JS/Python snippet to deploy a basic FVM actor that could orchestrate compute (e.g., mock proof submission for settlement).

    • Tools: Filecoin docs (docs.filecoin.cloud), Synapse SDK, Remix for FVM, or web3.storage + FVM testnet.

    • Encourage live following: Attendees upload a small dataset, then sketch a compute flow.

  4. Hackathon Integration & Next Steps (10-15 min)

    • How to incorporate into PL Genesis projects: Boost feasibility/impact scores by adding verifiable compute for frontiers.

    • Team support: Office hours, cross-country pairing for compute experts (e.g., AI devs in Kenya/South Africa).

    • Q&A + poll: What compute use case excites you most?" to plan future sessions.
