From Educating to Creating Futures
A conversation about closing South Africa's education-to-employment gap
South Africa doesn't have a talent problem. It has a pipeline problem.
Learners finish school without ever setting foot inside a workplace – making consequential decisions about their futures with almost no information about what work actually looks like. The gap between education and employment is where potential stops.
On 27 May, Salt Africa is hosting an intimate cocktail evening that will bring together voices from education, funding, research, and the world of work to engage in a crucial conversation.
Who should attend
HR, talent, CSR and business leaders who believe business has a role to play in closing South Africa's education-to-employment gap. If you're thinking about social impact, B-BBEE or ESG commitments or simply want to understand what young South Africans actually need to find and keep work, this evening is for you.
Space is limited. Register to secure your place.
What to expect
An intimate panel conversation — honest, direct and deliberately compact. No presentations, no passive listening.
The programme moves from understanding where the pipeline breaks to hearing from people working at every stage of it, to an open floor for questions and discussion. The evening closes with a single practical ask: the opportunity to sign up to host one learner for one job shadow day.
