SCetch Camp Watercolour — Color Temperature & Atmosphere
In this SCetch Camp session, we’ll dive into the soft and magical world of watercolour and explore how colors can completely change the feeling of a painting.
Our academic focus will be color temperature: warm colors, cool colors, and how they help us create atmosphere, depth, and emotion. You’ll learn why warm colors can feel sunny, cozy, and close, while cool colors can create calmness, distance, shadow, or an evening mood.
We’ll begin with small color experiments and then create a final watercolour piece — for example a cozy window scene, a landscape, flowers, a café table, a magical little house, or another simple atmospheric motif.
No previous experience is needed. We are here to explore, try things out, and learn together in a soft, creative, cozy atmosphere. Materials are provided, but you are also welcome to bring your own watercolours, brushes, or favorite sketchbook if you like.
You’ll learn:
How to use warm and cool colors, how to create atmosphere, and how to make a simple painting feel emotional and alive.
