Some food to share, and something you want to drink. Please label allergens (nuts, dairy, gluten) and dietary type (veg/vegan).
A picnic blanket
Your own plate (Tupperware), cup, and cutlery to eat from so we reduce single-use plastic waste
A story, poem, or music that you either wrote or found and wanted to share.
The suggested theme for stories and poetry is HEAT🔥 - it can be the temperature or it could be sensation - what it does to a body, a room or how heat turns memory into desire, joy or something harder to name.
This is only a direction, feel free to interpret the topic as you wish. New work welcome as much as something already written and published. Each story or poem can be up to 10 minutes long.
A breakdown of the evening:
7pm - 8pm: We’ll arrive at the meeting point in Jardim da Estrela settle down, and eat.
8pm - 10pm: Story and poetry sharing.
10pm onwards: Those who wish to stay can stick around - the park is open until midnight.

Garam Masala is an open invitation for people in Lisbon to come together and celebrate the rich culture and heritage we carry in our skin, our songs, our dance, and our food.
We are a collective of brown folx based in Lisbon with representation across four continents. We want to bring the explorations we’ve had over chai and samosas to others who want to celebrate our rich histories together in Lisbon.
