About Event

Join L’or, the host of our monthly t4t smut open mic Intimate F[r]agments, a smut writing workshop for trans and queer people of color. More often than not our work “fades to black” when it comes time for our characters to have sex; it’s hinted at but not put down in writing. Worse yet, when queer and trans sex is written, it rarely represents racial, ethnic, or body diversity, reproducing patterns of white supremacy (among other issues) by only showing us that queer sexuality can be explored by white characters. We’d like to change that.

With this workshop, we hope to empower existing and aspiring writers alike to dive into the smuttiness. In doing so, we will also open new portals to our own self expression and understanding.

You may ask yourself, do I count as a writer? To which I ask — have you ever written poetry or prose in your life and enjoyed doing it? Do you sext or have phone or video sex? If yes, this workshop is for you! If not, do you have a desire to do any of the above? If yes, this workshop is for you!

We will do writing exercises in the workshop to create new material, so pre-existing written material is welcome, but not required to attend the workshop.

Invite your friends! We can’t wait to see you :)

Reminder: This is an 18+ event. This event is predominantly a fundraiser, and we suggest $5+ entry for attendees. You can pay cash at the door or venmo/paypal @DitmasParkSlope with “intimate f[r]agments ticket” or something similar in the memo :)
