International Women’s Day 2026 – WTM x SCA Chuka

​International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global celebration of women’s achievements and a call to accelerate gender parity. This year, Women Techmakers (WTM), in partnership with She Code Africa (SCA) Chuka, is hosting a special event on 14th March. WTM’s theme, "Break the Pattern", encourages women to challenge stereotypes and barriers in tech, while SCA Chuka "Give To Gain" brings the local focus on empowerment through skills, mentorship, and community.

​IWD is WTM’s largest annual campaign, featuring summits, workshops, hackathons, and smaller gatherings that connect, educate, and inspire the tech community. By collaborating with SCA Chuka, we aim to provide aspiring women coders and tech enthusiasts on campus a platform to learn, network, and showcase their talents.

​The focus of this year’s campaign is: "Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls." Together, WTM and SCA Chuka strive to dismantle structural barriers, including discriminatory laws and weak legal protections, that hinder gender equality, while creating opportunities for women and girls to thrive in tech and beyond.

​Join us on 14th March as we break patterns, celebrate achievements, and inspire the next generation of women leaders in technology. Together, we give to gain, investing in equality, opportunity, and progress for all.
