Intro to Eco Printing Workshop
We will be popping up at The Green in Century Square to transform the lawn into an open-air creative studio to explore the basics of eco-printing!
Eco-printing (sometimes called botanical printing) is a slow, nature-led process where leaves and flowers are pressed into fabric, bundled, and steamed—leaving behind their natural pigments. Each piece holds onto the memory of the plants that made it, resulting in prints that are beautifully unpredictable and shaped by the colors already present in our natural world.
We’ll be printing on cotton to create your own one-of-a-kind bandana to take home. Treat it as something you can wear, gift, or keep as a small record of the day.
What we’ll do:
You’ll explore a selection of leaves and flowers, arranging them intuitively to build your design onto pre-treated cotton bandanas. Together, we’ll bundle the fabric tightly in preparation for steaming. Once they’ve been heated, we’ll gather back to slowly unwrap each piece and see what’s been revealed—the best part!
Flow of the workshop:
The first 1.5 hours will be spent learning, experimenting, and bundling our bandanas
We’ll take a lunch break while the bundles steam (there are lots of great spots to grab a bite at Century Square!)
Afterward, we’ll come back together to unbundle and share the results
All materials and tools are included with each ticket, along with guided instruction throughout the workshop. We hope you’ll join us for this one!
