jam: relational tech beyond human
How might we be in right relation with those who communicate in ways that go beyond conventional human language?
Join us as we explore some ways people are attempting to co-create relational tech with our beyond-human neighbors.
We'll start with hearing from Jeff & Quinn about their Turkeys in Public Space project in Cambridge, MA, then we'll invite others who may also be willing to share their beyond human work as well.
One topic that could be interesting to discuss: the turkeys can't opt into or directly participate in the tools we build — they don't submit photos or leave comments. So how may we all better serve the goal of building a genuinely relational connection with these non-human neighbors — and what other formats, participation models, or tools might help close that gap?
Conversations will be emergent, guided by the group's curiosity. There will be no requirement to speak, though we will especially welcome your questions! We'll likely NOT split into break out rooms, and the conversation will be documented and turned into an artifact we can reflect on and share.
We hope there will be conversations (with each other and our neighbors, both human and beyond) that continue long beyond this one Zoom room.
We'll host a totally optional after-space for folks who want to hang a lil longer.
