Scottish LiDAR user conference - building resilience in our landscapes

​With the Scottish Land LiDAR Programme (2025–2027) now releasing its first data, the landscape of Scotland is is set to be revealed in unprecedented detail.

​ClimateXChange is hosting a conference, in partnership with Scottish Government, to support the growing network of Scottish LiDAR users across government, agencies, business and research. This event is a unique opportunity for knowledge exchange and networking, focusing on the potential of high-resolution LiDAR data in protecting Scotland’s landscapes.

​The agenda is still to be finalised, but it will include:

• ​An introduction from the Scottish Government to the Land LiDAR Programme

• ​Insights into ongoing research projects covering hydrology, flood risk, erosion, peatland and forest mapping, run-off risks, biomass measurements, and irrigation

• ​The chance to explore and discuss critical climate action applications for LiDAR, including on emissions, sequestration measures, and risk mapping

• ​An introduction into how LiDAR drives climate adaptation through peatland restoration and advanced flood management.
