Beyond the Report: Using Climate Disclosure to Drive Better Business
This webinar series will explore the practical challenges and strategic benefits of climate risk and opportunity assessment in line with AASB requirements. Drawing on extensive experience in risk and governance work, we will examine how the AASB framework can be used as a strategic tool — not merely a reporting obligation.
While it is a common reaction to pursue a minimum compliance approach, doing so can limit the significant advantages this work can deliver. The preference for lower upfront expenditure often outweighs the perceived value of longer-term benefits, which are frequently underestimated due to time bias. When approached properly — with appropriate depth and credible methodology — climate risk work does more than safeguard revenue against future disruption. It strengthens current processes. Working through AASB requirements compels organisations to reassess how they operate, clarify risk ownership, improve governance alignment, and identify gaps or inefficiencies embedded in existing systems.
This series will focus on how to approach climate risk work in a way that builds genuine organisational capability and long-term resilience, rather than treating it as a short-term compliance exercise.
