🤖 AI for Good Hackathon — part of Oslo Innovation Week 2026

AI for Good Hackathon brings together technology, entrepreneurship and sustainability to solve real problems. Organised by AI Mission Hub and BI Startup Village, in partnership with World Climate School, participants will work in teams to build practical AI solutions for nonprofit funding and food waste. Expect hands-on building, mentoring, collaboration and a final pitch.

Two challenges

1  AI Grant Application Agent

How can AI help nonprofits spend less time searching for funding and more time on their mission?

• Find relevant Norwegian and European funding opportunities.

• Match grants to the organisation and explain eligibility, deadlines and requirements.

• Help prioritise opportunities and prepare application material.

• Keep sources visible so people can verify the information before deciding or submitting.

AI assists. People verify, decide and submit.

2  AI for Reducing Food Waste

How can AI help people make better decisions before food becomes waste?

• Predict demand using information already available to the organisation.

• Identify food or products at risk of becoming waste.

• Recommend purchasing, preparation or stock decisions.

• Suggest when surplus should be reused, sold, redistributed or handled differently.

The goal is prevention, not simply measuring waste afterwards..

We’re inviting:

• 💻 AI experts, agent developers, and machine learning engineers to build a working prototype.

• 🤝 Nonprofit representatives to share real needs and test the solution.

• 🎯 Mentors, professionals, and judges to guide teams and evaluate their ideas.

• 🌍 Partners interested in collaborating on AI for social good.
