FinRegLab x Flourish Ventures Roundtable: Liability in Consumer Financial AI Tools

​FinRegLab and Flourish Ventures are bringing together leading AI builders, financial institutions, and policymakers for a roundtable discussion on liability and consumer protection as AI takes on a greater role in people's financial lives.

​AI tools are moving beyond providing financial information and recommendations to making decisions and taking actions that directly affect consumers. Personal AI agents can increasingly make purchases, manage accounts, and interact with financial institutions on a consumer's behalf, while banks and fintechs are deploying their own AI systems to automate customer-facing financial services.

​How should consumers authorize and oversee AI acting on their behalf? Who bears liability when an AI system makes a mistake, provides harmful advice, or takes an unauthorized action? And how should responsibility be divided among consumers, AI providers, financial institutions, and other parties?

​This session enables leaders in AI and financial services to discuss how existing legal and regulatory frameworks apply to consumer financial AI tools, what protections and avenues for recourse consumers should have, and where new approaches may be needed as AI takes on greater responsibility in financial services.
