About Event

On Saturday August 1st, join Women of Culture for an intimate afternoon exploring Your Brain on Art by Susan Magsamen and Ivy Ross—a groundbreaking book that reveals how engaging with art isn't simply enriching; it's essential to living a healthier, happier, and more connected life.

Drawing on the latest neuroscience, Your Brain on Art explores why museums, performances, galleries, and creative experiences stay with us long after they end. The book shows how engaging with the arts can reduce stress, boost creativity, strengthen relationships, support cognitive health, and enhance overall well-being.

At Women of Culture, we’ve always believed in the transformative power of the arts. This conversation will give us the science behind that belief while inviting us to reflect on our own experiences and consider how we can bring more beauty, creativity, and culture into everyday life.

Hosted in an elegant private residence near Columbus Circle, this intimate Summer Reading Circle is designed for women who value lifelong learning, meaningful conversation, and the joy of connecting through culture.

Whether you’ve read every page or are simply curious about the book’s message, you’ll be warmly welcomed into the discussion - and maybe even make a new friend along the way!

What to Expect

  • A lively, guided discussion of Your Brain on Art

  • Discover the science behind why art, music, storytelling, movement, and creativity are essential for well-being

  • Thought-provoking conversations that connect the book's ideas to our own lives and Women of Culture experiences

  • Meaningful connections with a small group of curious, intellectually engaged women
