The Work No One Sees: A Public Field Note

​Somewhere between who you are and what you do, something gets lost.

​Field Notes from the Work (and the Wild) is a documentary practice built on one belief: we are living through a moment of relentless acceleration, and the official record — the titles, the outcomes, the visible wins — is not keeping up with the actual human experience underneath it. For the past year, Field Notes has been sitting with 50 people and counting — across industries, backgrounds, and boroughs — starting with one question: When do you feel most like yourself?

​On May 16th, we're bringing that practice to Harvard Square for the first time — and we want you in it.

​Walk in. Write your answer on a card. Add it to the wall. Get your portrait taken by documentary photographer Lindsey Lerner and become part of a living record — alongside 50 people whose stories have already been gathered, and everyone else who walks through that door that afternoon.

​The world keeps what you made. Field Notes keeps who you are.
