Mindjoy AI Educator Programme, Week 2: Personalised Learning Pathways
Over four weeks you will join a small cohort of educators working out how AI actually fits into teaching. Each week pairs a 60 minute live session with something you take straight into your classroom, so by the end you have built things your students have really used, and you have the evidence of what happened.
Sessions run weekly on Wednesdays, 26 August and 2, 9 and 16 September, 17:00 to 18:00 SAST. Please register for all four.
Theme: differentiation at scale
We open with what happened when your students met your tutor, what worked and what surprised you. Then we get into Bloom's 2 Sigma problem, the finding that one to one tutoring moves students two standard deviations beyond ordinary classroom teaching, and build personalised pathways from your own materials to see how close we can get to that while teaching a full class.
In this session, you will explore Bloom's 2 Sigma problem and where AI might close the gap, turn your existing materials into a personalised learning pathway, and talk through how other educators are actually implementing this.
Before the session, pick the lesson you want to build a pathway for and bring your materials for it as PDFs. Notes, textbook pages, slides, worksheets, whatever you have.
After the session, assign the pathway for homework or class practice, then look at the pathway insights for progress and common misconceptions. We use those in Week 3.
