The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has recently issued a consultation on the Prudential Treatment of Cryptoassets, 17 April 2026 (Consultation Number: P009-2026): https://www.mas.gov.sg/publications/consultations/2026/consultation-on-the-prudential-treatment-of-cryptoassets-on-permissionless-blockchains, which will shape how financial institutions approach capital, risk management, and digital asset exposures.
This session aims to bring together senior industry practitioners to provide practical perspectives and contribute to a consolidated BAS industry response. Discussion will focus on:
* Asset classification and eligibility for lower-risk treatment
* Capital and exposure considerations for institutional participation
* Risk management expectations (custody, governance, controls)
* Operational and infrastructure challenges
* Broader implications for Singapore’s positioning
