Cycling made Simple #3: How to climb and descend
We are excited to welcome you to the third session of the Cycling Made Simple by CIOVITA series.
This session is designed to help you feel more confident and in control when riding uphill and downhill. You do not need to have attended the previous sessions to join, this session can be followed independently.
Session #3 - How to climb and descend
In this session, we will break down the fundamentals of climbing and descending so they feel manageable, safe, and even enjoyable.
Topics include:
How to climb with confidence and manage your energy
Gearing and body position for climbs and descents
Breathing, pacing, and rhythm on climbs
Descending safely and in control
Common climbing and descending mistakes
What to do when it feels harder than expected
There will be plenty of room for your questions.
This session includes a practical ride following the theoretical introduction, allowing you to immediately apply what you learn in a supportive and encouraging group setting. During the ride, we will head to Spaarnwoude Heuvel to put climbing and descending techniques into practice in a real world setting.
