​EMERGE & Be Heard is a 120-minute introductory workshop designed specifically for women entrepreneurs

​and women of color who want to amplify their voices and expand the visibility of their businesses through podcasting.

​In this interactive session, we will explore the who, what, and why of podcasting, with a focus on how women—especially minority women business owners—can use this powerful medium to share expertise, tell authentic stories, and build brand awareness.

​Participants will learn the practical steps to start a podcast from scratch, including how to launch on a budget and position their podcast as a strategic marketing tool for their business.

​During this workshop, you will learn:

​• Why podcasting matters and how it can elevate your brand and thought leadership
• The unique value and impact of minority female voices in today’s media landscape
• Affordable podcasting gear and tools to get started without a large investment
• How podcasting helps build brand awareness, trust, and community
• A step-by-step overview of launching your podcast, including
 – choosing your podcast concept and format
 – recording your first episode
 – creating and registering your RSS feed
 – distributing your show across major podcast platforms
• A simple “getting started roadmap” so you can move from idea to launch with confidence

​By the end of this session, participants will leave with a clear understanding of how podcasting works, the tools needed to begin, and the confidence to start sharing their voice with the world.

​About Zaiba Hasan:

​Zaiba Hasan is an award-winning podcaster, speaker, and founder of Emerge Consulting. She is the former co-host of the acclaimed podcast Mommying While Muslim, a Webby and Golden Crane Award winner. Zaiba is also the host of Emerge & Thrive on Fox 5 Plus, where she highlights inspiring women across the DMV who are leading and innovating in their communities.

​Zaiba Hasan is an award-winning podcaster, speaker, and entrepreneur dedicated to amplifying the voices of women and underrepresented communities. She is the founder and former co-host of the acclaimed podcast Mommying While Muslim, which has received top industry honors including Golden Crane and Webby Awards, two of the most respected recognitions in podcasting. Through her work in media, Zaiba has become a leading advocate for greater representation of women and minority voices in digital storytelling. She has spoken on the importance of female and minority representation in podcasting at major industry events, including Podcast Movement, one of the largest podcasting conferences in the world. Zaiba is also the founder of Emerge Consulting, where she coaches women—particularly minority women—on personal growth, leadership, and entrepreneurship. Expanding her storytelling platform beyond audio, she created and hosts “Emerge & Thrive,” a video segment on Fox 5 Plus, where she highlights inspiring women across the DMV region who are forging new paths in their careers and communities. With a background in political science and communications and years of experience in media, public speaking, and community leadership, Zaiba is passionate about helping women claim their voice, share their stories, and build meaningful platforms that drive both impact and opportunity.
