About Event

During DC Climate Week, join Leadership Coach and Organizational Consultant Megan Smith for a guided meditation and reflection at the breathtaking Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, an urban sanctuary and the only national park dedicated to aquatic plants. This gathering is an invitation to slow down, turn inward, and reconnect - with nature, with yourself, and with the community of people who care deeply about our planet's future.

About the Experience:

Sustainable commitment to a healthy planet begins with sustainable people. This guided meditation and reflection offers a grounded pause in one of DC's most quietly magnificent natural spaces. This session will invite participants to settle into the present moment through breath and attention to the natural world around them, reflect on what sustains them and what depletes them in their climate work, and reconnect with a sense of purpose and collective belonging. No prior meditation experience needed. Come as you are.

The Facilitator:

Megan Smith is a leadership coach and organizational consultant based in Washington, DC. She works with mission-driven organizations to build cultures of clarity, psychological safety, and sustainable leadership. Megan's approach is person-centered and grounded in the belief that lasting change, in organizations and in the world, requires us to tend to ourselves and each other, not just the work. She regularly brings contemplative and somatic practices into her facilitation and coaching, creating space for people to slow down, reconnect, and lead from a steadier place. She is drawn to the intersection of personal sustainability and collective impact.

About Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens:

Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens is dedicated to ensuring the Gardens are a well-maintained, well- enjoyed, and welcoming park for neighbors and visitors. The event will be part of Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens’ WELLderness program, an outdoor wellness series developed to bring members of the community together to engage in activities that have a positive impact on their physical and mental health and well-being. Through this series, people have the opportunity to participate in free events that center around fostering better connections to self and the environment.

The event is free; donations are welcomed to support Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. Donations can be made here.

DC Climate Week is not responsible for this event. It is organized by the organizing group, and being listed on the DCCW calendar is not an endorsement of content or partners.
