Bit-Alchemy Showcase
Ever wonder what bitcoin would look and feel like if you could hold it in your hands? Im not talking about a wallet or brass coin with the private key on the back. I am referring to the 2.1 quadrillion units of undefined value being tracked on the bitcoin network.
On November 1st, one day after the anniversary of Satoshi's white paper, we will be showcasing a materialized bitcoin artifact from the Bit-Alchemy collection as well as a series of digital artifacts depicting the formless state of bitcoin before materialization.
Join us for another socratic dialog about this modern form of alchemy and the ethics of technology. At the end of our talk, you will have the chance to transmute bitcoin into something physical.
Discussion Topic:
Innovation is always a two-way street. All the tools at our disposal and in our mind shape and direct our focus as much as they do the world around us.
How does this relationship work at the spiritual level? Are Neo-Luddites right in saying that there something inherently ethical or unethical in every technology? Or are the ethics purely based on its use? And as some theologians posit, is there a way to approach innovation as a spiritualization of matter?
In our talk we will examine these claims and ask how they relate to Bitcoin, AI and all digital technology.
The art collection presented at this talk embodies my own personal struggle to give place to monetary technology within a spiritual framework.
The Los Angeles Bitcoin Mint is holding two separate ways to collect an artifact from the collection: A Digital Private/Public Mint for the digital bitcoin artifacts and a Private Auction for the physical. Learn more about the collection and how you can participate in the post below:
