Peru 1st Design + AI Hackathon
Furniture is often designed around a single purpose, yet the spaces we inhabit rarely serve just one. How might we rethink the objects around us to make them more adaptable, intentional and better suited to the ways we live?
The 1st Design + AI Hackathon URP 2026: Multifunctional Transformable Furniture invites participants from across disciplines to explore this question through artificial intelligence, computational design and digital fabrication. Working in teams, participants will identify a real-world need and develop design proposals, using AI-assisted research, ideation and 3D modelling to explore how an idea might take shape.
Architect Jennifer Durand of Zaha Hadid Architects will lead a workshop on emerging technologies and AI in design. Lumina House brings a fem-centric design perspective, encouraging participants to reconsider the assumptions behind how objects are conceived. With Google and Gemini among the event’s partners, the hackathon will explore new possibilities at the intersection of design and AI.
The event will conclude with presentations before an international jury and an awards ceremony, with Lumina House awarding a prize to the winning team.
