About Event

This is our English version of this event. Find the German one on Luma.

Have you considered using open-source software as your CRM?

The reasons could be many: you might be using spreadsheets to manage your customers. Maybe your SaaS is becoming too expensive, or you just want to have your data under control.

Fact is: A functioning CRM is critical for business success, B2B and B2C alike.

But many companies don't have open source alternatives to well-known products (like Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Pipedrive, Monday) on the radar. Fact is: they are well established, and of course the code open and free.

In this meetup I'll show those systmes, that we work with the most for our clients at Savio Media GmbH.

Agenda:

  • Introductions: How do you use CRM's?

  • Overview: EspoCRM & Twenty CRM

  • Q&A

Why Open Source CRM?

  • No licensing fees. They are free to download and deploy. But don't think it's free: Next to hosting and maintenance, you also need to implement your workflows, and that might need an expert like us at hand.

  • Customization: As the code is open, you can adapt it to your needs. Usually, licences allow adaptations; often they don't allow you to resell them or require certain licences.

  • Data Control: You own your data. You can export, import, and back it - you're not locked into a certain system.

If you're curious about those alternatives to expensive SaaS, and you'd like to evaluate them for your business, I'll take you on a journey through the systems that our clients choose the most. And obviously, we'll give an overview of others.

We'll have a look at the following systems:

  • EspoCRM Oleksii Avramenko started EspoCRM in 2011 as a free, open-source CRM platform designed to help organizations build and maintain strong customer relationships. It provides a wide range of tools to store, organize, and manage leads, contacts, sales opportunities, marketing campaigns, support cases, and more.

  • Twenty CRM Founded in 2023 by Charles Bochet, Thomas des Francois, and Félix Malfait through Y Combinator, Twenty is an open-source, AGPL‑licensed CRM built as a modern, developer-friendly alternative to Salesforce, emphasizing extensibility, community, and user-owned data.

  • OroCRM OroCRM – Created by the original Magento founders under Oro Inc., OroCRM is a Symfony‑based, open-source CRM first released in the mid-2010s, designed for B2B and multichannel commerce use cases with a strong marketing automation focus.

There are many more systems that we can also discuss if it is reqeuested in time: odooCRM, SuiteCRM, KrayinCRM, CiviCRM, Atomic CRM, Monica CRM, and more...
