Material Futures : A Climate Week conversation
Designers, innovators, and students come together to explore the materials and systems shaping the future of sustainable design.
How are new materials changing the future of design—and what does it actually take to move sustainable ideas from experimentation to production?
Material Futures: A Climate Week Conversation brings together designers, entrepreneurs, material innovators, and students for an evening examining the evolving relationship between materials, design, and industry. Timed alongside New York Climate Week and MakeUp in NewYork, the event creates a space for direct exchange with people working across biomaterials, circular systems, packaging, manufacturing, retail, and alternative modes of production.
Through a series of short presentations followed by a moderated conversation and Q&A, panelists will share their work while addressing the opportunities and challenges of developing, designing with, scaling, producing, and communicating more sustainable material systems. The evening concludes with networking, giving students and the broader design community an opportunity to connect directly with practitioners shaping the field.
