​AAL MICS (AI Accelerator Lab presents Major Innovative Constructive Showcase) is a recurring, interactive showcase that spotlights breakthrough work from founders and innovators in AI and adjacent creative fields. Each session is designed to foster exposure, meaningful connections, and knowledge-sharing, driving both individual growth and collective advancement in the APAC innovation ecosystem.

​​​Our Guest: Yang Qi

​Qi’s background spans design, psychology, and systems engineering. He received his PhD from Cornell University and is now an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin Madison. His research focuses on developing design tools that help people make creative and human centered decisions. Qi studies metacognition in design, exploring how people reflect on and guide their own thinking. He creates human and AI co-creative systems that expand cognition, spark curiosity, support long term skill growth, and help overcome design fixation. This work aims to create tools that are wise, tools that expand human creativity and learning rather than simply producing outcomes.
