Memories of Home Opening Reception
Memories of Home: Presented by Home Is Where, for Atlanta Design Festival 2025
Join us for the opening reception of ‘Memories of Home’, hosted at Memento Gallery for Atlanta Design Festival week.
This exhibition is an evolving exploration of the physical and emotional pieces that play a role in crafting a home, and living in it. Home is where material becomes memory, and the in-between takes shape.
The exhibition brings together a range of materials, disciplines, and artists to explore the tension between what’s built and what’s felt. Co-curated by Jailyn Easley and Madison Daily of Memento Gallery, Memories of Home features forged metalworks, handcrafted wood furniture, photographs, and digital compositions. These works are shaped with both precision and fluidity, yet grounded in an intentional softness that invites intimacy through human touch and emotional resonance.
While some works appear cold in material, their form and intentionality echo the softness we long for in the places we choose to call home. Each piece reflects the stillness and at times, loneliness of what it means to truly live within a space. These works are intimate by nature, offering new perspectives on presence, attention, and thoughtful living. Through the layers of each piece as a collective, the exhibition becomes a study in how material holds memories and how meaning transforms a space into a home.
