​Phil Ting is a prominent leader in California’s clean energy movement, currently serving as a key figure in state policy after a long tenure in the California State Assembly (2012–2024). Known for his work as the former Chair of the Assembly Budget Committee, Ting has been a relentless advocate for decarbonizing transportation and scaling renewable energy.

​Ting is the founder of Deploy Action, a new organization launched in early 2025 dedicated to accelerating California’s clean energy transition by removing bureaucratic barriers and fostering economic and environmental equity. His legislative legacy includes pioneering the Clean Cars 4 All program, which helps low-income residents trade high-polluting vehicles for zero-emission alternatives, and authoring AB 579, which mandates that all new school buses purchased in California be zero-emission by 2035.
