■ About｜概要
幸せの国ブータンで現在進行中の、超巨大国家プロジェクトGelephu Mindfulness City (GMC)。ブータン国王陛下の構想により進められている、マインドフルネス、サステナビリティ、文化的価値と経済成長を統合した新しい都市モデルとして、東京都全体を超える広大な面積の国際的なビジネスハブを構築しようとしています。
ブータン南部に位置するGMCは、特別行政区として開発が進められており、グローバルな知見とブータン独自の哲学を融合させながら、目的志向のイノベーションと持続可能な経済活動を実現するエコシステムの構築を目指しています。
2026年10月30日〜11月1日には、GMCを世界に発信すべく、世界中から様々なイノベーターがブータンに集結し、アジアの未来を探求するためのイベント「Asia Visionary Summit（AVS）」が開催。
「Road to AVS, Japan Edition」は、そのAVSに向けた、アジア各地で展開されるリアルイベントシリーズの一環です。
本イベントでは、オープンな対話を通じて新たなアイデアを生み出し、国境を越えたコラボレーションを促進しながら、AVSへと続く道のりを共に形づくっていきます。
Japan Editionでは、日本のスタートアップ、ディープテック、投資領域のリーダーたちを迎え、ブータンで進展するイノベーションエコシステムの視点も交えながら、「イノベーション」「起業」「エコシステム形成」をテーマにしたディスカッションを行います。
・ブータンの現状や基礎的な情報 ・国家プロジェクトであるGMCと都市開発の方向性、政府の狙い ・日本企業及びステークホルダーとの事業開発可能性
そうしたテーマに関して、来日するブータン政府の関係者や、来場される日本や海外のステークホルダーの方々との意見交換を通じて、理解を深め、今後のアクションを話し合うイベントです。
Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) is a mega-scale national project currently underway in Bhutan, widely known as the “Land of Happiness.” Envisioned by His Majesty the King of Bhutan, GMC aims to establish a new model of urban development that integrates mindfulness, sustainability, cultural values, and economic growth. The project seeks to build an international business hub spanning an area larger than the entire Tokyo Metropolis.
Located in southern Bhutan, GMC is being developed as a Special Administrative Region. By combining global best practices with Bhutan’s unique philosophy, it aims to create an ecosystem where purpose-driven innovation and sustainable economic activity can thrive.
From October 30 to November 1, 2026, Bhutan will host the Asia Visionary Summit (AVS), bringing together innovators from around the world to explore the future of Asia and to showcase the vision of GMC.
“Road to AVS, Japan Edition” is part of a series of in-person gatherings across Asia leading up to AVS.
Through open dialogue, this event aims to spark new ideas, foster cross-border collaboration, and collectively shape the journey toward AVS.
The Japan Edition will feature discussions with leaders from Japan’s startup, deep-tech, and investment sectors, alongside perspectives from Bhutan’s evolving innovation ecosystem. The conversation will focus on themes such as innovation, entrepreneurship, and ecosystem building.
Topics will include:
An overview of Bhutan and its current landscape
The vision and strategic direction of GMC as a national project, including the government’s objectives
Opportunities for collaboration and business development with Japanese companies and stakeholders
Through exchanges with visiting representatives from the Bhutanese government, as well as participants from Japan and abroad, this event aims to deepen understanding and explore potential next steps for future collaboration.
