Sketching Vignettes: Sketchwalk with Peri-Laine Nilan

​Join artist and urban sketcher Peri-Laine Nilan in recording the flavour of Granville Island. Our Sketchwalk will include sketching quick vignettes at a few locations on the island. Peri will answer questions, share tips on choosing your subjects, how she records them quickly and finishes them up with ink and watercolour. Perfect for beginners and those new to Urban Sketching.

​Peri-Laine began formal art study in Mexico, then completed her BA as an Art major at the University of Berkeley, California. She went on to complete her Art Education training at UBC, and a Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Arts Education from SFU. Peri-Laine taught in the public school system for 35 years. Now retired, the artist continues to work in her home studio, to teach classes and workshops in the community and to get out for plein air painting or Urban Sketching. Peri-Laine is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and the Burnaby Artists Guild.
