ABOUT THE MURRIETA INNOVATION CENTER (the MIC)
The Murrieta Innovation Center (the MIC) is Southwest Riverside County’s leading incubator focused on life science startups in the heart of Southern California.
The MIC is a dedicated facility established by the City of Murrieta to better serve the entrepreneurial and start-up community in the region. The MIC is focused
on strengthening the life sciences ecosystem by combining state-of-the-art laboratory space, entrepreneurial support, and access to capital in one
location.
In 2022, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Agency (EDA) awarded a $2.4 million grant to the City of Murrieta to support extensive improvements to the Murrieta Innovation Center (MIC), creating a hub for science and innovation in the region. The funds provided a new wet lab, a new dry lab, and the renovation of existing office and conference spaces to the MIC to better serve entrepreneurs and start-ups.
The MIC is currently home to 20 life sciences and medical technology-based startups, of which 9 are virtual international startups that utilize the Center with the goal to grow out of the center and into our business community.
