AI IS A VAMPIRE AN EXHIBITION BY KRIS LUCKRAJ WITH EMMA JOHNSON FIRE SIDE CHAT
Join us at The Warehouse on 12th September from 7:00 pm for a special evening within AI is a Vampire, the solo exhibition by South African artist Kris Luckraj.
At 8:00 PM, enjoy a fireside chat between Kris and Emma Johnson, Executive Director for AI Safety for a global bank and host of AI Trust Talks, the acclaimed podcast exploring the intersection of AI, ethics, and responsible innovation. Together, they’ll delve into creativity, technology, and the future of AI. The evening concludes with networking among art, ideas, and conversation.
About the Exhibition
AI is a Vampire draws a striking parallel between human language and artificial intelligence. Using discarded dictionaries as his canvas, Kris prints thought-provoking quotes and texts onto their pages, highlighting how AI’s algorithms are built upon the very words and ideas humanity has articulated over centuries. The works invite reflection on the ethical, philosophical, and creative implications of AI — who shapes it, how it shapes us, and what that means for the future.
About the Artist
Kris Luckraj, a graphic designer, painter, and multidisciplinary artist, grew up in South Africa during apartheid a time that sharpened his perspective on language, power, and social justice. Influenced by protest art and the potent typography of activist movements, Kris creates works that merge text, found objects, and visual wit to provoke thought and spark dialogue. His practice is shaped by civic, political, cultural, and technological discourse, with a consistent focus on the power of words to alter perception and inspire change.
