We showcase entrepreneurial leaders within the University of Calgary and the Calgary innovation ecosystem representing a diverse array of backgrounds and accomplishments.
Who will you hear from?
Billie Rae Busby is an award-winning Canadian contemporary visual artist who creates abstract paintings of our landscape. She uses a precise hard-edge technique and colour theory to reinvent her surroundings.
After twenty years in marketing, communications and sales, Billie Rae Busby (University of Saskatchewan B.A. Studio Art ’98, B.S. Kinesiology ’98) became a full-time artist and entrepreneur growing her artistic practice through the business skills and knowledge she garnered in her previous career.
Since 2007, her unique abstract works have been exhibited across Canada and have been acquired by numerous prestigious collections including the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Calgary Stampede Art Collection, TC Energy Corporate Collection and Canada House (the Canadian High Commission) in London, UK.
