About Event

Welcome to the Stanford edition of the "Health/Bio Coffee Club" event series! This in-person networking session is free and open to all; anyone can drop by and network and we're asking folks to bring a friend, a +1!

Featuring Special Guests:

Wei Li Tan is a Partner at Informed Ventures, where he focuses on early-stage investments in digital health and artificial intelligence. Trained as a physician with an MBA from Stanford, Wei Li merges clinical insight from patient care with entrepreneurial acumen. Prior to venture investing, he practiced psychiatry and then led strategy at APAC’s largest integrated healthcare platform—pioneering first-in-nation telehealth rollouts and forging collaborations with AI startups across global markets. Wei Li partners closely with founders building transformational and often disruptive solutions in healthcare technology, drawing on his medical training and diverse network to help teams tackle regulatory complexities, refine clinical workflows, and navigate commercialization.

Chia Jeng Yang is the co-founder of WhyHow.AI, a legal-tech startup that uses AI to identify emergent harms, acquire plaintiffs at scale, and deploy AI-native e-discovery including in the healthcare sector. He has spent the past several years across venture capital and growth-stage startups, with experience at Saison Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Pantera Capital, where he operated as a generalist with deep exposure to SaaS, e-commerce, fintech, and blockchain, working closely with founders and investors. Earlier in his career, Chia Jeng was part of Rocket Internet, helping build Daraz, a leading e-commerce platform across Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Nepal, later acquired by Alibaba, serving hundreds of millions of customers.

ASES is Stanford's premier entrepreneurship society. ASES (Affiliated Stanford Entrepreneurial Students) was founded at Stanford University in 1989 with the goal of connecting student entrepreneurs all over the world. Today, active ASES chapters provide educational programs on entrepreneurship, design, and venture capital for students across the globe. We challenge our members to think beyond Silicon Valley and solve global problems.

Hosts:

Samantha Lee has 12 years of experience in healthcare, investing, and entrepreneurship, and has worked with over 200 founders and c-suite executives to help them grow their companies and achieve their goals. She is currently the Head of Founder Programs at the Demand Discovery Group which helps early-stage founders find product-market fit. Her healthcare experience includes investing in digital health startups, developing tools for identifying fraud, waste, and abuse in the US healthcare system, and helping a Nigerian healthcare company expand their ChroniCare Clinics to 6 cities in Nigeria. She was previously a founding member and CEO of Conjunct Consulting, a social change consultancy in Asia which works with private and public institutions to strengthen social good organizations.

Charleston Wong has a background in healthcare, research, and business development, with experience supporting scientists and researchers in optimizing lab workflows. He has worked closely with biotech and pharmaceutical companies to enhance R&D efficiency and data management. With a strong interest in biotech, AI, and VC, he actively researches and networks within the startup ecosystem. He is currently at Benchling, helping life sciences organizations accelerate innovation through cutting-edge R&D software.

Neva Hidajat is a Junior at Stanford studying Management Science & Engineering. She was a Co-Director for ASES in the past and now organizes events centered on entrepreneurship across verticals. Previously, she founded the Stanford Southeast Asia Business Conference to amplify the work of changemakers from the region and inspire the next generation of leaders.
